Our ever-expanding Greek Mythology collection of gifts takes inspiration from the gods, goddesses, heroes and icons of ancient Greece and we're very excited to add this new Achilles design to the enamel pin badge collection. Achilles has been our most requested Greek hero thanks to the popularity of Madeline Miller's brilliant book 'The Song of Achilles.' The pin badge portrays Achilles' helmet and also symbolises his close relationship with Patroclus.
Our striking Persephone and Hades gold pin badge symbolises the kidnap of Persephone, daughter of Zeus and Demeter, by Hades, god of the underworld.
Demeter, who is the goddess of the harvest, is grief-stricken at her daughter’s disappearance which causes the crops and plants on earth to die. Zeus intervenes and commands Hades to return Persephone. Reluctant to release her, Hades tricks Persephone into eating some pomegranate seeds, the food of the dead. As a result, she can spend only six months out of the year with her mother; the other six months she is destined to spend in the underworld with Hades. In Greek Mythology, the return of Persephone from the underworld symbolised the return of life in the spring.
Our Circe shiny gold hard enamel pin badge represents the powerful enchantress Circe who was skilled in the art of potion-making and witchcraft. Daughter of the sun god, Helios. Circe was said to have the power to hide the sun and moon as she willed. Circe kept a menagerie of animals on her island including big cats.
This magical enamel pin is perfect for fans of the popular Greek Myth retelling, Circe by Madeline Miller and we also have a gift set containing a beautiful hardback edition of this book, along with a Circe t-shirt.
The Athena white and gold enamel pin portrays the goddess of war and wisdom. Born from Zeus, Athena was usually depicted carrying a spear and shield to represent her skill in battle. Athena also embodied wisdom and rational thought which was symbolised by her owl.
Artemis, the goddess of hunting, is depicted on this striking pin badge that makes up a further item in our range. One of the twelve Olympians and famed for her skill with a bow and arrow, Artemis lived in the forest and commanded a group of female hunters.
Our final pin badge in the range represents the tale of Pandora’s Jar and is detailed with the plagues and disasters that Zeus has contained inside the jar. The first mortal woman, Pandora, is entrusted by Zeus to take the jar back to Earth with the promise that she must never open it. However, Pandora’s curiosity gets the better of her and she opens the jar to release all the evils of the world.
You can save 20% off the final price by buying all six badges in the Greek Mythology collection, with this bundle deal offering the best value for collecting all of your favourite Greek Mythology designs.
